Richard has a long history of exceptional model builds, and we are including a selection here to showcase the diverse range of subjects he has explored over the past several years. Rich’s extensive experience and meticulous attention to detail make him an excellent choice for your next project.

Countless hours of research go into each build, ensuring historical accuracy and faithful representation of the specific time period from which it is derived.

Enjoy.

Ships, Boats and Submarines

“Rich is an absolute specialist when it comes to replicating ships and seafaring vessels in miniature. His love for the sea has fueled his passion for naval and seafaring vessels of all types. I have always been particularly taken with his attention to detail when it comes to his scratch-built decking and hardware. The great majority of the models you see here were not simply built from existing kits, but from scratch. Whenever possible, original blueprints were referenced in an effort to ensure the model depicted the original vessel accurately. When you gaze upon one of the large ships, you are instantly transported, imagining what it must have been like to have lived and worked on one of these incredible ships.”

Aircraft

In the relatively early years of the development of the F-35 Lightning II, Rich was commissioned by Lindberg Models to create a scratch-built scale model of the STOVL version of the aircraft, now known as the F-35B… MORE

Automobiles

Most builders approach car modelling with the desire to make the car as perfect as possible, replicating a showroom new finish. Not Richard, he is a master at making some of these rare classics look like they have been sitting out in the weather rusting away for years. It may seem funny, but it is difficult to make plastic fenders and door panels appear realistically dented or rusted. Here are a few examples of some of Richard’s amazing illusions of weather damaged vehicles.

Armor

Armor models include tanks and other military vehicles, offering an excellent opportunity to explore a wide range of painting and weathering techniques that enhance realism and surface detail.

Trains

Who does not appreciate a well-crafted railroad model or layout? These builds showcase a range of techniques, from fully scratch-built scenes to layouts that combine detailed structures with HO and N scale model trains, creating realistic and immersive miniature rail environments.

Unique Subjects

If you have ever had the opportunity to walk through a hobby shop, you have likely noticed that the most common models are cars, airplanes, and trains. However, there is also a wide variety of kits and subjects that extend far beyond traditional themes, including science fiction creatures and alien spacecraft.

Here are several of Rich’s more unique scratch-built models, each constructed entirely from the ground up.

Many of these models were also used as visual displays in museums and traveling exhibitions.
